“Anger is the light bulb on the dashboard of my heart to indicate I don’t trust God.”—my husband, Larry Miller (Tweet That!)

Any number of reactions could be put in the place of the word “anger” in my husband’s quote. It just depends upon what your go-to sin strategy is. For instance:

  • withdrawing your heart from risking rejection
  • pouring contempt on a person who doesn’t give us approval
  • discontentment
  • lack of self-control
  • worry
  • demanding our own way
  • wanting revenge
  • bitterness…

The list could go on and on.
If we could recognize that all these reactions are an indicator we’re not trusting God, we might be able to change our thinking into trusting God…and then have godly reactions.

Something to think about.

How does it speak to you? What dashboard lightbulb goes off in you? How does it indicate you are not trusting God?
