Would you like to have a book that offers encouragement about almost every aspect of life in a practical, step-by-step way? Then that’s what you’ll find in Lane P. Jordan’s wonderful book, 12 Steps to Becoming a More Organized Women: Practical Tips for Managing Your Home and Your Family (Updated & Revised).
Check below to enter your name into the drawing to win a free copy of Lane’s book.
Lane’s book is like a “how-to-do-all-of-life” in one handy dandy book. She covers:
- walking with God
- marriage
- reaching out to others
- time management
- balancing home and career
- healthy and fit
- healthy meals
- home management
- parenting
- emotional health
- strength from God
I can hardly think of anything she left out!
And her format is so practical and clear! It’s the kind of book that you most likely won’t read from cover to cover—front to back—but in bits and pieces as you have a need in a particular area. Although that doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy reading whole chapters. But it’s a wonderful reference book for the important areas of life.
For instance, here are her points for the section “Eat Properly Every Day for Energy.” (Who couldn’t use some more energy? I’m ready to take a nap right now!) And with each point, she includes more to explain:
- Stay away from fatty foods
- Avoid the white groups
- Stay away from processed food
- Read labels
- Eat 4-5 small meals a day
- Use an app to help manage your diet
- Plan what you will eat
- Etc!
And the list goes on and on. Again, it’s not just a list, but includes encouraging bits of information to punctuate the idea.
Then the next section talks about high-energy foods. Then the next section says “Learn to Control the Stress in your Life”! You will be blessed by all her practical wisdom.
I think this book would be a particularly wonderful gift for a bride or for a child who has just moved out on their own. It would be like taking you with them—all the wisdom you’d want to share with them. Just think, you wouldn’t have to nag them!

This sounds like a wonderful resource. I find I am less organized as I get older. My clutter is encroaching. I have more difficulty ordering my day. Help!
