At this stop, I’m very pleased to feature an article by:
Christine Lindsay

Christine was born in Ireland, and is proud of the fact that she was once patted on the head by Prince Phillip when she was a baby. Christine’s great grandfather, and her grandfather—yes, father and son—were both riveters on the building of the Titanic. Tongue in cheek, Christine states that as a family, they accept no responsibility for the sinking of the great ship.

It was stories of her ancestors who served in the British Cavalry in Colonial India that inspired her Multi-award-winning, historical series “Twilight of the British Raj”. Aside from being a busy writer and speaker, Christine is also VP of Christian Authors’ Network. She makes her home in British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada.

MY BEAUTIFUL BOOKENDS
by Christine Lindsay

When I sat in the hospital bed in 1979 holding my newborn daughter, I knew God was going to do something special to comfort me. I knew this because in a few days I was going to relinquish my baby to adoption. I named her Sarah, in faith that God would reunite us someday when Sarah became an adult.

A year after I gave up Sarah, Mr. Right walked into my life, and as the years passed my empty arms were filled three times over with our children, Lana, Kyle and Rob.

Each day that I prayed for our three kids, I also prayed for Sarah, and for our reunion that would happen one day.

Twenty years after I relinquished Sarah, my prayers were answered, and we were reunited, but I feared the close relationship I wanted with Sarah might not grow between us. After all, it’s a lot to expect of a young woman who has had the best of adoptive parents to love a perfect stranger. And what was I? Not her mom—that was her adoptive mother’s role. I was Sarah’s birthmom. But what on earth does that role look like?

It took a number of years, a lot of tears, and loads more prayer, but God kept His promise to me. That special relationship with Sarah did develop, and I have had the joy of seeing my two daughters on the front covers of my first two novels, Shadowed in Silk and Captured by Moonlight.
Not many moms have the kind of gorgeous bookends that I have.

Thank you, Christine Lindsay, and thank you, Readers/Hunters. Ready to continue?
